About Us
As a Schonberg and Associates Assisted Living Community, our number one priority is always the safety and well-being of each resident. If you talk to one of our residents or families, they’ll tell you that our emphasis on individualized quality of care is what matters most to them, and what we offer day after day.
We believe in the simple and familiar “neighborhood” living concept. Some residents who only require minimal assistance with day-to-day life enjoy a fulfilling sense of independence and support, living comfortably in a home-like environment. Other residents requiring the specialized care of degenerative memory impairment are provided higher levels of care and security. Families enjoy peace of mind in knowing their loved ones are receiving the appropriate level of care they need.
At Ashton Plantation, as with every Schonberg community throughout the South, residents here age ‘with grace and in place’ in a loving environment that accommodates their needs at every level.
Management Team
David C. Schonberg, Schonberg and Associates. Owner and Managing partner
Starting his career in the senior retirement industry shortly after receiving his MBA and MHA from Tulane University, South Louisiana native David Schonberg and a partnership team broke ground on The Suites at Sugar Mill Point in Houma, Louisiana in January 2001. From that beginning, David’s calling in the Healthcare and Assisted Living fields has evolved with years of research, planning and development of some of the finest Assisted Living Communities in the South. His trademark “neighborhood” living concept, offering incremental levels of care depending upon individual resident needs, represents the highest standards of care in the industry. David developed a second property—Alden Pointe Assisted Living and Memory Care in Hattiesburg, Mississippi—and recently acquired ownership of three South Carolina Assisted Living and Elder Care communities, which now proudly bear the Schonberg name and distinction. “The way I judge the success of each one of our communities like Ashton Plantation is by asking myself this simple question: if that resident were my mother or father, would I feel that their every need and happiness were being met everyday?”
